NASA TX DE May 21-22 at MSR
(Whew, is that enough acronyms for ya?)
NASA TX is another organization here in Texas that does DE's (among other stuff), like Drivers Edge and the Porsche Club. I have no exerpeice with them and their events, but they're relatively cheap ($200 for a weekend) plus they allow non-instructor passengers. It appears they're typically restricted to drivers who are solo-approved, but they're willing to work with novices as well.
The next Drivers Edge event at MSR is during one of our autocross weekends, with the next one after that happening in September. NASA has an MSR event May 21-22 however. Might be a little warm, but waiting until September is a long time...
Here's their informational link:

Does anybody have feedback regarding this organization? And who would be interested in attending?

I'd definately like to get in another track event at MSR before I venture on to the wall bordered territory of a DE at TWS Not that I think I'd drive like a maniac or anything, but the whole thought of walls at my second road coarse event just kinda gives me the willies Of course it has nothing to do with spinning out at least three times a year doing autocross
Anyone else have experience with this group? I'll consider the outing if I hear something positive...

I haven't run with NASA, but I'd be interested in hearing from someone that has. Unfortunately, with my budget this year, I probably won't be able to squeeze in a track event until autumn.

I prefer TWS to MSR...given that the wall is on the straightaway, it's not a problem...the drop from the bank onto the road course does take getting used to for first visits.
Here's a place you wouldn't want to be concerned about walls...http://www.radicalmotorsport.com/gallery/index.php right click on the "Nordschleife lap record" video and download it. There's maybe 5ft of shoulder between the road and the rail for the entire Old Nurburgring course...it really doesn't look humanly possible. Certainly not after a couple beers.

I was directly behind a Corvette that dropped two wheels off the outside of turn 8, and ended up in the tires on the outside of turn 9. It did not look pretty when it was towed back to the pits.

I have noticed that the instructors tend to coach everyone to be conservative in turns 8-9 because of that wall. There's really no reason to be running aggressively through those two turns before you drop down onto the carousel.

NASA runs one DE group in between all the racing groups. They are VERY laid back and will let you pretty much do whatever you want out there. They will provide instructors but how qualified they are a whole other matter. So if you have not been soloed by another organization I wouldn't recommend them. For more advanced drivers I think it is a pretty good deal since it is a lot of track time for the money. It also allows you to watch a lot of racing which typically appeals to the advanced crowd.
I will be racing my Prelude all year with NASA in the Honda Challenge. If you were going to make one NASA event I would recommend going to Hallett Sept 17-18. It is a great track and it will also be the USTCC championship which should be cool to watch. Here is the NASA schedule.
Motorsports Ranch March 5-6
Motorsports Ranch May 21-22
No Problem Raceway June 11-12
Texas World Speedway Aug 20-21
Hallett Sept 17-18
Motorsports Ranch Nov 5-6

I might go to one of these since the ONLY event I was going to do this year was the National Prelude Meet up at Hallett and my brother-in-law decided that's the one weekend this year him and the family could come meet up with us in TX. I have half a mind to tell him to go pound sand.
Anyone want a entry slot to the NPM in Hallett??

Yeah, considering you are one of them.
