Machine Shops
Last week I had to pull the head off of my Sister's 95 Civic due to over heating and blown head gasket. Found out the head was warped and received a recommendation to take it to Arlington Machine Shop for repairs by a "friend" that owns a shop near me and deals mainly in high power domestics. He does a lot of milling himself, but is not set up for Hondas, so he sent me there. He was reluctant to send me anywhere just for personal reasons, but said they do work for him sometimes when he can't do it himself... so....
They pressure tested it for cracks, cleaned it so good that it sparkled, replaced valve seals, checked valves, milled the surfaces, and turned the head around to me in only 3 days.
They get 2 very big thumbs up from me for great service. Was reasonably priced too from what I know, but then again, I've never had to have a head repaired before.
Just thought I would share the good experience.

They do all of Marcucci Motorsports' maching. There are several members with their work driving around.
I also have to say that these guys are cheap- they do good work, check things you wouldn't necessarily expect, and are very easy to work with. I'm not sure how they are with complete novices, but I can say that they've always treated me right.
Also, I do more disassembly than they are used to (speeds things up for them) but they will do complete head and engine jobs if you bring them assembled heads/blocks.
They also do all of Vandergriff Honda's machining.

good to hear. I was really impressed with their work, and they were very easy to work with. they even called like they said they would to give updates on the head. Which most shops never do!
again, i was very impressed and like I said before, I thought it was a pretty fair price on the work. I will definitly be going to them for future repairs!
