One thing I haven't looked at is how the AWD turbo buggies would have done in Z class this year. If they would have only been beaten by the boosted Lotus, then that would make even more sense.

I don't think the boosted cars on street tires would be able to beat a N/A Elise on R comps either or a well driven Corvette on R comps or even the Stalker on R comps. Basically if you don't have r comps in Z you're dead meat. Even the Elise can play in Y without R comps, don't think an Evo or STi should have to play in Z without them.

That's really the worst part of the system is that all cars in Z class are essentially forced to run R comps if they want to win. However, I would still think that an Evo on R comps would be much more competitive in Z class than an S2000 on R comps.
