Default Lousy Lease Experience at Bankston Honda!

Traded in my 2002 S2000 Jan 6th at Bankston-salesman Steve P. Payment on the old one was due Jan 15th. I've complained about the slow payoff to no avail. And it took over a week to get the lease papers mailed to me from Steve P. I paid them with a Fidelity money market check- 3 weeks later Steve called that Bankston wouldn't cash the check and required a personal check. Steve asked me to meet him to exchange checks. When we met, he did not have the old check as he said he would, but he said he would mail it to me- but he still needed a personal check for $2500. Now Bankston has two checks of mine. He was to bring the valet key they owed me but didn't. After complaining about the car's not being paid off after 3 weeks, he said it had been paid off and the car had already been sold. Well, I checked my bank tonight and loan balance of over $20,500 was still due. It's nearly 3 1/2 weeks and the dealers plates expired last week. I still have to registration or window sticker for the car. Steve's only suggestion was put my old Vet plates on it. Now, I'm liable to be stopped for no TX registration sticker. AVOID BANKSTON!!!!! And Steve P.

I thought I read in your thread a few weeks ago you bought it from scott? Sometimes finance departments can be a little flakey, i'm sure you'll get it sorted out.

I think Gene Means me. The issues we've been having are with our Accounting Dept. We used to have an accounting department in House, and now we have a Central Accounting Facility that serve ALL the Bankston Stores. It's still fairly new and all the kinks are still getting ironed out. Plus we have a new Comptroller that's a Nazi and she's just viscious about paperwork.
Gene - Your Valet Key was Fed-Ex'd Saturday and should be to you No later than Tuesday.
Your Money Market check is headed back to the dealership and will be voided and Fed-Ex'd back to you as well.
Steve is our Sales Manager - and he's handling this FUBAR directly. This is the first time I've personally dealt with any of these issues - and I'm sorry for it Gene. I have no control over what the accounting department does. We're having a few other issues concerning another S2K purchase that's supposed to wrap up tommorow. Arrrrggghhh.....

I've been so upset over this deal I typed 'Steve P.' when I meant to type Scott P.

I thought so. I've sold over 300 cars since last January - and this is the first time I've ever had to deal with these kind of issues. I'm just hoping it's an freak occurance since they're moving every thing to the Resource center this month.

You sell about a car a day?

Not every day. Sometimes I sell 1 one day. 3, 4, or 2 another, and sometimes 0 another. I average over 1 car a day. Been kinda slow this month though.
