Default Look what I cooked for Dinner

Tonite, I had one of my favortie exotic dinners. Mantis Shrimp

Heres what they look like side by side


The Claws are surprisingly sharp


Resembles a Praying Mantis


Side View of this wierd yet tasty creature


The Tail, still has its crustacean traits


Here are its legs which it walks on


Here is one of its arms located in the upper thorax


Here is a comparison of its size.


Mantis shrimp cooking in the oven


Done and smells delicious

you can start the "animal planet food network". Where do you get those? I've never seen them in hong kong market.

This gets my vote for weirdest thread of the year

I've had them in mainland China but I've never seen them for sale in the States before.

Actually that really scares the "SHITT" out of me......uggghh!!!! I always was scurds of praying mantis and you ate one!........ right on!!!

hows hong kong? I was born there but moved when I was very young and have never gone back. I heard its awesome down there.

i noticed you only had 3 of them. is that because theyre big and you get full easy, or is it because theyre expensive??
