If I recall correctly, when the STi and the Evo first came out (statside) with their factory warranties, Subaru/Mitsu reps would search the internet for VIN numbers before agreeing to cover warranty claims. It could very well be a rumor but after hearing this, there could be some truth to it.

geico is crap... sure i'm 18, have a wreck, and 19 points on my record but any other company would be less than $300/mo for LIABILITY!!! they also have the most retarded auto insurance adjusters... when i had my wreck, the moron saw my car and asked if it was the mx5 i said no then turned around and asked why he didn't have a bra for his man tits...
maybe that's why they gave me the shaft
