Default I hate semis!!!!

Ok, rant mode on!!!

coming back to work today from lunch - totally beautiful, top down weather - minding my own business and flowing with traffic on I35E southbound in Lewisville. Around Main st, 35 starts to become VERY congested, unusual for lunch time, with no construction and I'm hoping there's no wreck ahead.

Well, there wasn't a wreck, but there was a long (5-6) line of semi's in the left lane, one semi in the middle lane pacing the left lane perfectly, and the right lane was going ultra slow, like below 50. Now I'm getting fumed. I've gotta get back to work, these buttheads are just toodling along, and there ain't a thing I can do about it. We make it to the George Bush turnpike, and I'm still stuck. and still doing 50-55 - not even the damn speed limit!!!

So, I do something that I've never do - crossed into the HOV lane, which was wide open, gunned it and by the time I got around the trucks, was well into triple digits... Eased back into traffic and continued to toodle my way back to work.

Would it be too much to ask the truckers to stay the hell outta the left lane unless they're passing!?!?!?!?!

Ok, I've purged now. I feel better, I knew that ya'll would understand... Can I get a group hug?

big brother disclaimer:
nothing in this rant ever really happened, it wasn't me, I wasn't there.

When I was in Ottawa, I noticed that they don't allow large trucks to drive in the left-most lane on many (if not all) highways. That was greatly appreciated.

didnt they recently pass a law making it illegal for them to be in the left lane somewhere in the metroplex?

If so, there wasn't any enforcement going on, Nivek!

Not only large trucks, but any car that drives 50-55 mph in the left lane drives me nuts. Earlier this week on 360 in the late evening I had to slow down to 45mph in the fast lane, with this one car just puddling along in the left lane, oblivious to any driving etiquettes. I passed him in the middle lane and looked over and there he was just blabbing away on the cell phone.

I guess that luckily for me (and them too!) I haven't figured out how to mount the minigun on the S just yet.

I feel your pain - only in a different way. Out here we have hundreds of rock haulers that drive about 80 - 90 mph, full or loaded, no matter where they are. They usually kill a few dozen people a year. Your cheeks tend to pucker a little when you've got 80,000 lbs barrelling down on you and no where to go - thanks to grandpa driving 45 in his dually pickup in front of you. Not to mention all the gravel they scatter on the roads.
