Default Grand Prix of Houston

A while back there was some talk about getting together a group together to go see the Champ Car and American LeMans races in Houston...

So, we have ordered 25 tickets to go to Houston as a club. 20 tickets have been paid for and 5 remain. See below for details if you wanna go with us.

What: Grand Prix of Houston (Champ Car and American Le Mans Series)
Itinerary:
*Friday May 12 - Group drive to Houston, American Le Mans
*Saturday May 13 - Champ Car Night Race
*Sunday May 14 - Group drive back to Dallas
Where: Houston at Reliant Park
Why: If you bought an S2000 you probably know why.

Cost: We have negotiated a group discounted rate for the SuperTicket of $110 per person. Your ticket will include 3-Day premium grandstand seating and a 3-day paddock pass. There is very little going on Thursday and the SuperTicket ended up being the cheapest/best way to attend.
Payment: Please PayPal your payment to dues@s2000.org by Wednesday Feb 8th! Be sure to include a mailing address in your PayPal so that we can mail your tickets to you. PM me if you have an issue using PayPal.

Accomodations: Marriott Fairfield Inn at Galleria. $69 per night x 2 nights.
Fairfield Inn by Marriott: Near the Galleria
(713) 961-1690
3131 West Loop S
Houston, TX 77027

Event Parking: We are working with the organizers to put together Coral parking with other car clubs.

I am most definitely interested. I was looking at the Grand Prix Club tickets. It's a bit of a financial and time commitment, but I'd be interested.

We've found in past F1 trips it can be more fun when the group stays in the same hotel or at least nearby. I was planning to go but would be more interested in a group event. I think we can also round up some CenTex folks. I know some Lotus owners planning to attend as well. Of course the new Audi R10 should be there too!

OK guys, I'm working on the details.

In order to get our seats together the club will order all tickets together. So, in a few days the NTS2KOC will start taking payments via PayPal or check for your tickets. In about 2 weeks we will order all tickets together

I'm thinking we'll go with either the 3-Day General ticket for $45 or the Reserved tickets for $87 which is in a better Grandstand. Please let me know what you are interested in. All paddock passes can be purchased seperatly by those who want them.

I am still working on the hotel and will let everyone know when we have a central hotel chosen.

I haven't been to the Houston Grand Prix in a few years, but I would definitely recommend a paddock pass. This is a rare chance for someone to see the cars upclose as well as being able to see "under the skin". Last time I was there Alex Zanardi (before career ending accident) was walking through the paddack chatting with fans, signing autographs, etc. It's a very cool atmosphere IMHO.

I think we would be interested in the better reserved seating for $87.

Sign me up. Either seating is OK with me since I differ to your experience as to value.

Regards,

Al
