I havent read the whole thing yet, but so far its a great read... Over the years, I cant count how many titty babies on here complained when their motors blew up and they were trying to convert back to stock to try and get warranty work.

it just depends on the dealer on how strict they want to be on it.. i usually dont have a problem having the dealer warranty anything, but i also havent had anything go wrong

i had a situation where my old 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V had a bad crank bearing. the engine sounded like a bicycle with a playing card in the spokes. i took it to nissan of mckinney. the car had 58k miles on it and the powertrain warranty for nissan is 60k. the car was lowered on a eibach pro-kit and had a CAI, exhaust, and header on it. nothing else besides that. six days after dropping it off they told me that nissan had denied my warranty due to the mods i had.
i asked them what an intake, header, exhaust had to do with the crank bearing. they said that it was the header that allowed the engine to "wind" up faster thus pre-maturely causing it to fail. none-the-less i asked them to put that in writing per the Magnuson-Moss Act and they wouldn't and told me they would ask Nissan again. another three days went by and they eventually replaced the long block with a brand new unit. they didn't perform the recall on the butterfly valve screws though and it ate a screw a few weeks later and shattered the spark plug in cylinder three.
about a year later it finally met its maker when a kid ran a red light on his cellphone going 60mph on 380 and hit an avalanche which in turn in my Sentra. RIP.
