The first year I had the car, I was a couple bars below half and within 10 miles it went down all the way to empty and the car stopped.
This was a malfunctioning sender unit.

i dont really go by the gas guage personally.. but it did slightly annoy me. i reset my tripometer each time i fill up and i get about 260-270 per tank depending how nice i am to the gas pedal.

Going by mileage is a good way to get stranded. I sometimes get 180 miles to a tank.

Thanks, could this cause problems or malfunctions elsewhere?

My problem happend about 5 years ago and never after that but it's a weekend car so I don't really drive it much, it has been atleast a month since the last time I drove it if not longer.

Jeez, I get 270 regularly. consider 280-290 stretching it. That's only 21~ish mpg. You might want a fuel saving map greg.

If I do much highway driving, then I get good mileage, but my usual road warrioring results in ~18 MPG.

BTW, you can't really create a "fuel saving" map with the FlashPro. It currently can't let you set a closed loop AFR target leaner than 14.7:1

You drive like a little old lady, that's not surprising coming from someone with 100,000 miles on his OEM brake pads...
