Default Elastic Band replacement Top Fix

I was looking at the modifry fix- and thought I could do it cheaper, maybe document it, or share the excess elastic with the other North Texas guys. It only looks like I need 1 Meter max - so this looks to be enough for 10 tops. Anyone have any experience doing it? Anyone else need any extra? Thanks!

Just installed the Modifry one since my elastics had worn out. If you can make it cheaper, I'd be in for a backup set since I'm only at 30k.

I'll try it! Pushing mine back is starting to get annoying.

How hard was it to install the modifry one? What is the staple or metal piece used to install it? Thanks for the input

I have some left over - if anyone wants it or me to install it I dont mind doing it for a six-pack (I am up in Frisco though shoot me a PM if you need help!)
The bands are only $2 at walmart - and I used normal thread - just using the base of the elastic (If you look closely on your bands, where it touches the older connection points, the band is probably 20% torn away) make sure to stitch it before that point.

With the top half way up, the closer to the front of the car points can easily be stitched, then with the top 100% up (but not clipped in) you can slide the elastic to the back and stitch it again - here are some pics. The top goes down flawlessly (but only time will tell!) Never the less - for >$3 it was worth it - and I still have extra for version 2.
