Could help. But dropping any more than an 1" or so will dork up the camber curves so bad you can toss the S2000's handling capabilities out the window. Not to mention the CV carriers are going to develop the divot and you'll be on the bumpstops more often then not.
with any drop, are the halfshaft spacers a good idea?
and what are the bumpstops/what do they do??
haven't done any suspension work on a car before...sorry for my ignorance

clovis is right, dropping two inches is real severe and the camber could be somewhere like -4 degrees.
spacers, some say yes on all drops and others only say if its lower than about an inch. bump stops are the little rubber guys put in place to prevent metal to metal contact in the event that you bottom out. im dropped about an inch and have yet to feel my bump stops. going lower you may have to cut them down abit to prevent an ealier bottom out.
do you want a two inch drop? this may come at a greater cost down the road. i.e. tires, half shafts, oil pan, rolled fenders..etc
alot comes with a slammed car, ive had several and spent a lot of money making it right the first time or making it right after i jacked up alot of parts

not necessarily a two inch drop...between 1 and 2 inches...there is a big gap in the front that i want to get rid of, but don't want it to end up being a huge expense, hopefully less than 2 grand, so i'm trying to find a budget alternative.
Thanks for all the info, esp. about the bumpstops

you could consider my car slammed. honestly i need to raise it up... i really cant make it over anything, and im sure it will have effects the cv carriers etc.
but really i dont bottom out and i hardly rub (only if i take a HARD turn, with a large bump, very fast)... but thats prob because my coilovers are pretty stiff with some nice spring rates....
as far as the handling goes. from stock i think my car handles better. well it does take high speed lane changes etc on the highway better... and it feels more stable in turns, but i am no means a race car driver, and i havnt even made it to an AUTOX or road race with my car so who knows.
also, im not sure how much i even lowered my car.. its hard to tell with coilovers, i just kept adjusting them till they looked and felt right
maybe 1.5in?

about 1800 should get you a set of tein flex coilovers,
i bought mine from jotech along with the EDFC (total more then 2gs), and installed them myself with the help of tim (mic crispy) and his buddy matt.
the gap in the front and rear can all be cured nicely with a one inch drop. thats what the teins do for you ought of the box. you can go lower but like i said you can have issues.

the edfc takes much care to install, i did it without a shop manual and just used my head to carry me through. extra care must be taken when installing the motors as other members have found out, and running the wires can be difficult in some cases but, definately worth the time and money.
