Yeah, you're probably in big trouble if you try to race that Ford GT.

Speaking of my differential, it (Nissan conversion) is scheduled to arrive at my old office today. Hopefully, I'll have it installed in a few weeks.

Actually Fred has a slight power/weight advantage although down quite a bit on torque and probably traction. I expect the diff won't take the hammering until the upgrade is complete. I am willing to bet it would be closer than you think from a roll.
You should know better than to compare power/weight ratios. How about power/torque curve? I'm sure Fred's car is very fun and quick, but it's not going to be anywhere close to the near 130mph trap speeds the Ford GT can put out. Not to mention, in a Car Talk post, they are getting 600+rwhp with minor chip and pulley mods on the Ford GT.
Anyway, no need to turn this into a flame fest, but no amount of mods to an S2000 is going to make it run like a Ford GT.

Sorry, meant to say Fred. Edited.

I'd hate to have to ship my car back just because the alarm was defective.
Honestly, though... I could see Fred's car giving a stock Ford GT a run for its money in pretty much any performance competition, except maybe for the "quickest to get a girl naked".

Clarkson apparently ended up keeping his Ford GT.

Beautiful home...but don't you mean Tacoma not Tucoma? I grew up in Everett and had some friends that went to PLU down in Tacoma. I love the area and hope to get back up there someday, but hopfully closer to the San Juans or maybe down in Portland.

Tacoma it is. So much for spell check. Actually, my choice was Orcas Island, but the wife didn't want to be that isolated. Her first choice was Portland, but they have a state income tax and they are way too liberal for me (not for her). The nice thing about Oregon though is no sales tax. So on big purchases, its a trip to Portland.
