Default car alarms

Hey guys, all this talk about tops getting slashed is making me a little uneasy... so I wanted to know if you guys had any recommendations for car alarms and if you know anyone that installs alarms as a side project, if not I'll just go to Best Buy, etc. I know having an alarm isn't going do a whole lot against someone slashing your top so maybe someone who also has the proximity sensors could maybe shed a little light too. Thanks in advance for any advice guys!!

I am pretty much settled on getting a Clifford alarm. The big question is where should I get it installed? any recommendations from past installations? Places to avoid, etc?

thx!

I think car alarms are like condoms - always giving a false sense of security to the one that's being screwed.

It all depends on the installation.

I am strongly considering the Clifford Intelliguard with the proximity sensor.

^^^^Hmm...I'm having the same thoughts, from what I have seen remote start is a bad idea due to car theft. I had it on my auto. 2 dr. accord and would love it on the S, but I dunno if its worth the risk. Honestly I would be more concerned with vandalism/theft(radio, seats, etc.) than the actual car getting stolen....anybody have thoughts on this? Anyone have remote start?
