Default BMW Autocross at Mineral Wells TOMORROW!

There's only 1 S2000 other than myself registered for tomorrow, which is a bit surprising. What's the deal yo?!?

My co-driver wanted to do the SCCA event on Sunday, so that's where we're running this weekend.

Also doing the SCCA event on Sunday, or I would go. I love Mineral Wells even if it is a little hard on tires.

I'm in. Figure the more I do it, the faster I'll get Heck of a drive out there from McKinney though. Not excited about waking at 6am on a Saturday

I'm not missing it! Way too much fun! The drive is far from Dallas. Thats why I love Fort Worth! I'm not far away and I'm only 10-15 mins from TMS. Looking forward to NTAXS next week !

Too far and NASCAR traffic around ft worth on the way back so I'm skipping.

Awesome and challenging course. Loved it. Here you go Gern: a clip of your car with exhaust launching (some annoying wind noise in there, but oh well)

Thanks for posting the clip!

I LOVED this event! The course was extremely fun, long, and fast! I bounced the rev limitter in 3rd a LOT! I haven't checked my FlashPro datalogs yet, but I think that means I was hitting 83 MPH (3rd gear at 8500 RPMs).

I was disappointed to finish in 2nd place in X class behind Wainwright (sp?) in his S/C'ed Miata, but I was glad that I had the 4th fastest time overall. My laptimer iPhone app screwed me out of ALL of the video I tried recording in the afternoon, so I don't have my fastest time. However, I do have a couple decent runs from the morning. The first run in the video is about .8 seconds slower than my best time, and the 2nd run was probably 2 seconds slower due to "angry driving".

Where in the world were you bouncing the limiter in 3rd? I don't see it in the video. Do you have gears? I know I went into third up the back just before the slalom, coming out of the slalom (this is where I'm guessing you might have bounced 3rd gear?), and around the middle sweeper before the finish. From the sound and look of it, seems like you did the same.... ???

I don't know if I was "angry" driving, but on my 8th lap I went "all out" and it definitely backfired on me, lol. Poor finish to the day. Was hoping to see 98.something. By the way, you were right about Armstrong: he should have been in "Z" class (next highest best I can tell) with the R Comps. That would have made me third in class, not 4th

Class X: Non-BMW vehicles less than 2.1 liters (except S2000 and Lotus Elise)
Class Y: Non-BMW vehicles greater than 2.1 liters and less than 4.0 liters. (including S2000 & Elise)
Class Z : Non-BMW vehicles 4.0 liters and above

The use of “R” compound or “slick” tires on a Non-BMW moves the vehicle up to the next higher class.
Sorry Revs! Actually, Armstrong, you would have been 2nd instead of third, looking at the Z field
