There is less than a 20% chance of rain guys. It is just going to be cloudy.

This should be high praise to keep the Harley guys off the roads for us...

From what I have seen in a past with such a low percent chance of rain it could be raining cats and dogs in one area of Dallas and be TOTALLY DRY in another part at the same time with the same forecast.

This also goes for your own starting point to the drives' starting point. It seem too early to call the drive off when we are 18+ hours off the start time. I have had so many people give up on a drive because it was 'damp' on their own location, but the drives's point was dry as a bone.

If the clouds are coming through from the west in Abilene at 6 am, it wont' reach east Dallas by 9. I don't see how you can give up on it yet unless it was a 60% or 70% chance.

At 8am that is a 10% chance

from 9am-3 pm = no more than 50% chance. That means it might rain, it might not.....Now in the late afternoon that is a differnet story.

Since the drive has been postponed a week, is there any chance of reopening the list? No prior autocross obligations that day,and it would be great to drive with you guys.

Don't know where the 10% chance was coming from....
Yesterday at this time after watching two local weather forecasters on tv it was 30 and 40% and I felt screw it let's roll.
After watching three local weather forecasters on the 6pm news yesterday it was up to 40,60, and 80% with the highest likelyhood of severe possible in the area of the drive. Given the length of the drive, the route, plus the idea afterwards for leisurely lunch, fellowship, and browsing of the local shops, we would still be in the area at early to mid afternoon. Then you still have the drive home roughly 60-70 miles east of Dallas. Even tho I am massively disappointed, IMO it was a good call to delay for one week.

Hey Tom you might want to check again as most of the weather sites including weather channel are showing 70-100% chance of rain and with the drive being over at 2pm people still have to drive home and that will put a lot of them smack in the middle of a thunderstorm.
