be concerned about the pounding my R's will be doing on the pavement.

235/40/17 = 24.4" (OEM - 25")
255/40/17 = 25.2" (OEM - 24.8")

Difference Front / Rear = .8"

I don't know if .8" difference will be a problem for our ABS or not, but if the ABS computer is too sensitive, it will see that the front wheels are spinning faster than the back wheels, and engage ABS at the rear.

Can we add a "Scrap" tire category for this event? I will be running on a good pair of 225/50 Kumho Victoracers at the front, but a crappy pair of 225/50 BFG R1's at the rear. My front tires are actually WIDER AND STICKIER than my rears! It is going to be embarrassing as hell to trail the other "R" guys by 6+ seconds!

Greg, I think that falls in the "Not My Problem" category.

I'll be on street tires as usual...

I'm not sure about the Pinto - somebody panned on bringing a little formula car, and there was some concern about it breaking our insurance's 70mph speed limit. My guess is that the offer to bring the Pinto was sarcasm.

But on a related note, last year I saw a Yugo autocrossing...

We are talking about a 2.0 L, 138HP, Pinto-powered car...

Mark, are you going to be able to make the autocross meeting next Wed?
