ASA FR1 17*8 front 235/40ZR/17 A032R 17lbs front wheel weight and 17*9 rear 255/40ZR/17 A032R 18lbs rear wheel weight:-) used for club auto-x and a full SOllO 2 ASP season next year.

I looked at cost of wheel/tire, this is the best out there. +49 front and +62 rear offsets, nice and snug fitiments! offsets were designed specificaly for the S. These will accomodate brembo brakes in the future. 35mm of caliper clearance.

right now stocker's are for the street. 16" tires are cheaper for daily driving.

tirerack is heat cycling the tires for $15 each, shipped/mounted/balance 2 day fedex(perfect for cooling off) Heat cycling was recommended by tirerack.

up next: ground-control.com, ER adjustable coil overs with adjustable re-valveable advance design shocks.

p.s wheel diam. for front is -.4 under stock and the rear is +.4 over stock, very tolerable for auto-x.

That would concern me. Such a difference may cause problems for you ABS. Your gearing will also suffer. It would be much better to have a rear tire diameter SMALLER than stock.

Does this mean I'll finally have some competition? It's been lonely at the top since I got my race tires...

gernby,
+.4 is not much difference. that would be like going to a larger gear? 25.2 is what the diameter will be going to. that is .98738% larger diameter. don't try to psych me out. 3/8's of an inch, 8 laps, not much of an effect.

be concerned about the pounding my R's will be doing on the pavement.

Did I read right that there is a Pinto with R tires on that list? That should be interesting...

Oh, and I think a lot of the p-car guys are going down to College Station for a DE that weekend.

Umm... might want to rethink the ADs if it's going to be a street-driven car that sees more than 5000-8000 miles a year. ADs have very low stiction seals, which are great for smoothness, but also mean that more dirt & grime will work their way past the seals and into the internals quickly. For the record, Ground Control does not recommend ADs for a street-driven car. Ask 'em yourself - I did.

Of course, they're end-user rebuildable. So if you don't mind rebuilding them once a year...
