Default Annual Christmas/Holiday Party & Lights Drive

Hi Folks,

The Temming's will be hosting the annual S2K club Christmas/holiday party again this year. If it is anything like past years, this is an event that you simply do not want to miss. The party will be held on Saturday, December 8th. The agenda for this event follows:

Club Meeting
5:30-6:30 pm - Club Planning for 2008 (Your input would be welcomed. Consider becoming part of the team.)

Party Agenda
6:30-7:30 pm - Drinks and Appetizers
7:30-8:15 pm - Buffet Dinner (Jo's cooking - it's all good)
8:15-9:15 pm - Christmas Lights Drive through Highland Park
9:15-10:30 pm - Dessert/Coffee and White Elephant Gift Exchange

We will provide all of the food, dessert and sangria. As we will need an approximate head count, please respond to this thread or send me a PM. You are welcome to bring a significant other, spouse or friend- please indicate the number of people attending when you RSVP. Responses on or before Thursday, December 6th will be greatly appreciated.

This year we will be doing a White Elephant Gift Exchange (optional) after the lights drive. If you have not done one of these before - the idea is to bring a wrapped (bagged) gift (value $20 or less). We draw numbers to pick the order in which we choose gifts in. If you choose a gift, say a 1/18 scale Aston Martin DB9, and someone else likes that gift, they can take it away. However if that happens, you do get to choose another gift. The third time a gift is selected, it is take out of play. As indicated, this event is optional with participation encouraged.

For those of you who haven't been to the house before, we are located just north of downtown Dallas and slightly west of Central Expressway. The easiest way to get here is from Hwy 75 (Central Expressway). From 75 exit on Fitzhugh, go west on Fitzhugh to Buena Vista Street (approx. 1/3 mile from 75 - just past the traffic lights). Go south on Buena Vista Street (there is a e-Vet on the corner of Buena Vista). We are 1-1/2 blocks south of Fitzhugh on Buena Vista on the west side of the road in a group of 4 Mediterranean town homes. The street address is 4115 Buena Vista, Dallas, TX 75204. If you get lost, call us at 214.789.1001. You can park in and behind our driveway, 4117's drive way and there is usually plenty of street parking on Buena Vista. MAP

true. although I'm not sure I want to put the miles on the car. we put 24k on it in the first year.

regardless, you're right. the roads up there are wonderful. I've taken the car a couple times already. my wife's sister lives in Alma actually, right off Hwy 71. from their house I can be attacking mountain roads inside 15 minutes.

hmmm....maybe we should take the car again.
