Addison S2000 wreck
I was on my way to dinner @ the olive garden tonight and saw a really bad s2000 wreck @ midway/beltline in Addison. It was a stock pre 04 new formula red and side was crushed, I think it hit a big light pole. When I get to the scene there were at least 2 fire trucks, an ambulence, channel 5 news crew and a bunch of people standing around.
They had to cut the top off the car with some powertools and the person was taken away in an ambulence. I hope it wasn't anyone here, looked like a definete injury accident. I thought the S2000 had a really good crash rating, I remember someone driving theirs off a mountain and being okay. Should be on the local news tonight, just thought i'd give a heads up.

channel 11 said it was a 20yr. old female. I hope to god she is ok
I made sure not to give it too much gas on the way home, rwd+torque+heavy foot+wet roads=bad things.
Hope she's alright though.

Any car can kill you, no matter how safe it is. For a convertible the S is damn good, better than most SUV's in a roll over. It's not as safe as an Abrams, but it does cost a little less.
Here's hoping she's ok!

I once saw a picture of an S2000 that hit a telephone pole on the passenger door - looks like it intruded half-way into the seat. Driver was fine, said something about going 80mph. Anyway, the point is that I suspect there's a lot more to this story than just hitting a light pole (which are designed to break away on impact anyway, right?) Possibly she was broadsided by another vehicle, or there was some further factor such as not wearing a seatbelt. I just find it difficult to imagine somebody getting seriously injured in a single car situation like this, regarldess of how slick it was.
