That has to be a mistake. I don't remember getting beat by one either.

I didn't realize how well that 914 porsche did.. WTF on that one?

Yeah... the guy listed as the 99 Miata was actually in an M-Coupe. This was his first autocross in it.

I think it's definitely time for me to hit up one of those Evolution autocross schools to improve my skills. I think my times in the S2000 are slower than I would have been in my old Prelude (granted, the Prelude was on R compounds and had some suspension work). I think I definitely need some driver improvement, though. I know I had well over a second that I could've shaved off, I just couldn't put the car where I wanted it.

Oh, well....

Unfortunately, I didn't really get to test them out. There was ONE braking opportunity on the entire course. The rest you just let the turns slow you down, maybe a bit of light braking. That also made the course less of a challenge.

I was never able to get the NEW Yokohama AVi's to hook up. You were right, too much tread made for a very sloppy tire. I think the heat build up caused them to go off right in the middle of each lap. It obviously got worse towards the end of my groups.

mxt_77,

SCCA and ER events are good seat time events. Although the crowd is growing and it takes all day for 4 runs. These events have made me a better driver out of the hole. Greg Lee and Jim Harris are at almost every event. They are older, wiser and have combined experience that is longer than we BOTH have been alive. But there times show it. I have picked up a few things from Greg and Jim, just from watching them drive.

Did everyone get their best times with the slalom or the sweeper? I never tried the sweeper, and I'm still kicking myself for not trying it at least once.

I think the consensus was the sweeper was good for at least a half second. Unfortunately, it was full of gravel and potholes.

I didn't do the sweeper. It really didn't make sense. Who knows. I was still reducing my times while going through the slalom. The exit speed on the sweeper may have been the key. I will never know, because it didn't happen.
