2007 Last Year for S2000

I have heard that Honda is coming out with something in the spirit of the S800 (less power, smaller engine, nimble), and I suspect that when it arrives the S2000 will be gone... but I don't think it'll be until the 2009 model year or later.
But, yeah... if you talk to anyone at a Honda dealership, they're always going to tell you that this year is the last year, because they want you to think that you might miss out on your opportunity to buy one if you don't do it now.

When I bought my S2000 yesterday I talked to the GM and said is this the last year of the s2000 he said they were comming out with the new trim level in the fall but that he talked with his guy at honda and they said they are comming out with a new convertable sports car that will be alot less horse power and cheaper to compete with the solstace and other cheaper models. Said will be a big cut in horsepower and performace

220 hp and 2400 lb curb weight would put it at a better power-to-weight ratio than the current car, plus I'd expect more agility as well. I'd definitely be interested!
Problem is, they'd probably dumb the car down for the masses - softer suspension, less aggressive steering, etc, etc - so you'd probably have to mod it a bit to make it worthwhile.

The vague part to me was that there would be a gap in production of a Honda convertible between 2008 and 2011.

There is a 2008 S2000. 3 Models offered.
S2000 (Base, the one we all know and love)
S2000 CR
S2000 CR with Air & Audio
2008 S2000 updates the Instrument Panel with the Coolant Temp, Fuel Guage following the Arc of the Tach as opposed to the "rainbow" things in the current car.
2008 S2000's hit showrooms around Oct.
Expect the Base model to be $200 higher than the current Model. Nothing announced on the CR.
You can still grab an '07 for $28,295.00

I get "this is the last year" every time I have gone into a dealer and talked about the S, including in 2000. They really needed to do more investigation since the 2008 model line has been known for a while now.
Resale value? Not for my S!
