I read the same article. The S800 looks suspicously Sky/Solstice -ish... I believe the article said it will be alot tamer... 200 hp, offered in automatic, softer ride/suspension, etc... Personally, I didn't think the car looked that good.

Hard to say for sure if the latest article is accurate. If it is, then Honda is taking a higher volume sales route with creating a smaller, lighter weight and less powered S???? to compete more directly with the MX-5, Sky and Solstice. Financially it has to make sense and the pic's of the new convertable look pretty good. However, I always wanted to see Honda offer a true performance version of the S. But then again, there is nothing saying they won't offer the new two seater convertable with an optional turbo.

You guys should pick that magazine up if you haven't already. There's also an article in there about the new WRX STI and EVO. Dang... Both are 4.5 to 60, and do the Qtr in 12.5

And both are purely speculative as well. The pictures were manipulated and the performance numbers were all estimates.

How can R&T say there will be no more S2000 when HONDA itself has officially said that the S2000 CR will go on sale this fall?
http://www.hondanews.com/categories/903/releases/3948
"The S2000 CR will be available as an entirely new S2000 trim level when it goes on sale in the fall of 2007."
Magazines have been predicting the demise of the S2000 ever since 2000. Not a single one has been correct. Sure, one of these days they'll be right be pure luck but until then these sorts of reports have ZERO credibility.

When I bought my S2000 yesterday I talked to the GM and said is this the last year of the s2000 he said they were comming out with the new trim level in the fall but that he talked with his guy at honda and they said they are comming out with a new convertable sports car that will be alot less horse power and cheaper to compete with the solstace and other cheaper models. Said will be a big cut in horsepower and performace
