Default Who drove to work today?

I did. Im pretty experienced in snowy conditions having lived in MO for 4 years, and was pretty confident in my driving. However, I didn't realize how icy the overpasses are/were. Obviously, nobody else did either. I did fine, but I felt like I was playing grand theft auto. I witnessed 3 cars spin out and run into walls and I even had to dodge one of them, haha!

Apparently there were 800 reported accidents in Houston today...

I went in to work @ 2 and there were still ice spots. Almost got hit by an idiot in an at&t truck speeding through the ice. I should be done around 1 so hopefully the roads wont be bad going home.

I drove to the med center today around 12 and got there at 1230. I ended up taking the side roads since they still had parts of 59 closed. Sorry my drive wasn't as exciting as tit's lol

Had to come into work today at 4:30PM, car got a little shaky under the 610N/I-10W underpass due to ice.

Saw quite a few bumpers on the side of the freeway...

Drove to work after 45 north reopened around noon yesterday. Lots of sand and ice chunks on road but nothing exciting. Drove in blizzards before in Colorado, but everybody there knows how to drive in ice and snow.

I dont think this is the issue. I think the issue is this city was unprepared for such a winter storm. In MO, all the roads wouldve been plowed and salted by 7AM. Also, the overpasses tend to collect significantly more ice than roads on the ground...and we have a lot of those...

Just judging by the numbers and what I saw, I'd say you were well justified to "freak out about a little ice".

I cant agree with that. Last time I was in Michigan it was so cold and freaking ice everywhere. It was like a constant drift everywhere. It was so freaking bad my car was frozen to the ground one day. Yet everyone you saw on the road was driving fine. I mean ya they was going a little back and forth but you didnt see fools slamming on there brakes and doing 360s down the damn road.

Anything that isnt land locked can freeze once it hits 38 degress. So why in gods name would a person attempt to use over passes ?

Like I said Houston drivers just suck at anything that isnt perfect weather.

Next time you are driving and it rains just a little watch for when there is a slight curve on the highway I bet everyone slows down or traffic jam happens right there.
