Default Track Days/Driving School

Excuse my ignorance but I've not been around competition for more years than most of you have been alive.

In '62 I what you call autocrossed my 60 MG but in the intervening years although i have almost always had s sports car (from Sunbeam Alpine to XKE to 911 to Miata to name less than half) but other interests have taken me away from anything but street driving.

So now i have this PERFORMANCE machine and no place to play in the twisties in Houston. I'm from the hills of southern OH with lots of great country roads.

I see posts about track days and about possible one day driving schools at area tracks. I think I better get a little expert instruction before i try a track.

Any help or comments you can offer?

I would highly recommend you take a look into The Drivers Edge
http://www.thedriversedge.net/
They have several events at TWS a year and they have an excellent crew of instructors. Typically new students have no autocross or track experience what-so-ever so there is no reason to feel intimidated.

You really need to join in on the Group Drive on September 18th. There are twisties, but you have drive a few hours to find them.

Thanks for the responses. After rereading my original post I understand why s2kmugen was confused.

So are you looking for Track time or autocrossing?

Autocrossing

http://www.houscca.com/solo2/solo2.aspx
or
http://www.houston-bmwcca.com/Autocross.htm

Track

http://www.lsrpca.com/DE/DE.html
I usually run with the porsche group

http://www.thedriversedge.net/
I have run with them also, both groups do a great job of teaching high speed driving skills
