these are the things that are most important in owning an s2000

FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE!

if you can't afford the insurance this is not the car for you. real talk.
I understand what you are saying here and I have taken ridiculous as well as unexpected counter measures to thwart low life's. But, many insurance companies (and S2000 owners) in numerous states are totaling low mileage S2000s after 1 seat theft as they now know it is quite common and likely to happen again. You said it yourself.

According to a Honda associate, since the S2000 production run was under 250,000 units world wide they will not be obligated to provide new factory parts for more that 7 years after the cessation of production. Well that was on 8/7/09 so we have 6 years left. Point is Insurance regardless of how well you maintain your S2000 if it is a victum of theft with low mileage and/or age they WILL total the car, as opposed to a minor fender bender.

Why do you suppose many insurance companies offer reduced rates for vehicles equipped with GPS tracking (Lojack) They assume they will get it back and minimize their cash output for your claim.

Ultimately for those who intend to keep their S2000 till hell freezes over or the car acquires collector or antique status full replacement becomes a VERY gray area and ultimately places the owner at the mercy of their insurance agent.

Perhaps thats why I am willing to do what the piss-ants don't expect. Real Talk!

no i understand. that your car will be totaled out. as i already went through this. but, if you have insurance you won't be completely up shit creek without a paddle.

i got a good paycheck for my last s2000. if i had liability, it would've been even more of a headache.

What company are you getting full coverage for 78 dollars a month for? That's amazing. Is it because your deductible is through the roof?
