Lol

I have a cheap Alpine with the ktp-445 and modifry DCI with stock speakers. It sounds decent but could be better.

F22C @ 8k RPM

naaaah, jk. lol Kenwood KIV-701 w/modifry wired DCI. No CD Player (because who uses CDs nowadays anyway?!) just iPod USB input. Choose this one because its iPhone compatible, easy to navigate folders(mimics iPod/iPhone music selection), supports Pandora, and it looks pretty good! And more importantly, it was cheap.

Sony DSXS300BTX
This headunit doesn't have a CD player, instead it have a space to put your iPod/IPhone inside the headunit. But I use a 32GB Flash Drive, and it works great..

I've got the Sony DSXS100 and I love it. Only problem is that when I plug the antenna into the back of the unit, it causes the unit to power off. So I have no radio. I can't figure it out.

Alpine CDA-9886 but that won't help you much as it's an old model that I bought back in 2007. Thought I wanted a CD deck even though I was switching to an iPod at the time. Knowing what I know now I would have bought one of the IDA series as I've never used the CD deck but it looks like they no longer make them. I decided on Alpine because I knew I wanted to retain the dash controls with a Modifry DCI and the PnP harness for Alpine was a plus in my book as my soldering skills are terrible.

All that said, you need to buy based on your needs/wants/priorities/etc. There are a lot of threads on head units in the Electronics subforum and hopefully your research includes more than S2000-specific websites.

alpine IDA-x200... someone on H-I sold it to me for $50...

its a radio/usb/iphone only, no CD... but whats the point of CDs now? i just have a 8gb MicroCenter usb stick in there all times...
love the aesthetics of it... but if i could, i would get the newer model of the IDA series... however, i really can't complain about this one since i got it for only $50...
