I live in north houston, kingwood, and I can honestly say that there are more cops there per square mile at certain times of the day, and sometimes of the month, than anywhere else i've been in houston. we have both houston cops and local constables. nothing ever happens here, so most of the cops are just out to find traffic violations or chilling at donut gas stations. maybe its cuz i deliver pizzas, and im out on the road here more than anyone/anywhere else, but this is the only place i've ever been where a good portion of the cops use instant radar.
in another case...my radar went off one time, so instinctively i slow down to par, which was 30. dude behind me gets pissed, so he changes lanes and goes at most 35 to slowly speed past me. couple seconds later, cop pulls out of a neighborhood street and pulls him over! i was like "wtf? that was ridiculous." cop's name is Makenroy (i think that's how you spell it), but he's the one i see pulling over the most people, and he's got a reputation here. i've had a radar detector for almost 3yrs now, and i know how to drive smart with it, but i guess this dude stays ahead of the game.
