Painting my CF hood?

Painting my CF hood?
Hey gang. My car got rear ended last month. I went today to the body shop to get my rear bumper fixed. I asked the guy if he would also paint my CF hood? He said that he will not do it because the paint will chip off? Even if he preps the hood the right way, the paint will still chip off of it?
Anyone experienced this?
thanks,

I've seen plenty cars with painted cf hoods.I really really doubt it will chip off. They do have to sand it down like any other thing tho.I got the edges of mine painted but it had a lot of fisheye since it had a lot of grease within it.

Probably depends on the quality of the CF hood and the clearcoat overlay (if it has one). One shop I know of had difficulty with a CF hood (not mine though) as the paint actually seeped into the cf weave causing it to bubble up. The safest bet would be to vinyl-wrap the hood, but make sure the paint does not eat into the vinyl.

...i'll post the results as soon as I get them.
UPDATE: $190 later and the hood looks brand new again. Yay!!

Hey, can you see if they can paint my CF hood yellow??? The painter at the body shop said that he would do it but no guarantees if it starts to chip off.
