3. hours go by.
4. get a call saying my car remoted started by it self need to come down asap.
5. haul ass down there to find my car's front end wedged up against 92 grand am's rear bumper.
6. i start laughing because i don't know what else to do.

Sorry to hear about that man. Make sure they "really" fix your bumper and headlight brackets properly.

car started by itself? Sounds like a coverup to me. And put itself into gear and revved up and launched itself. just can't see it building up that kind of momentum.

on the shop.

likely scenario- guy thinks he put it into reverse, actually in sixth, dropped clutch, hit car in front. bummer.

Why is it your job to fix it and to get the parts?

They screwed it up.

They fix it.

Insist on new OEM parts.

with the remote start and the car left in gear, the car will move by itself. That's one of the reason car companys put in the clutch switch, so people wouldn't start the car with it in gear and have it move on them.

I know of a car that try to start it's self and rolled forward into a motorcycle, and the start stayed engaged until the wires got so hot it started a fire and burned the front half of the car. This car was a car that didn't need the clutch pedal pushed in to start, like on a remote start system.

It sucks when something like this happens, and you can has to be fixed, nomatter who falt.

awesome that they're working on it, and not denying that it was their fault.
