a former mugen engineer with F1 experience is building a 13,000 rpm f20c. Cost is $30,000 to start.

King Motorsports had contracted Mugen to build a 2.2L stroker for the F20c before Honda released the F22c in 2004. Not sure what came of that.

A friend of mine tells me a Mugen modified BTCC Accord would cost you $200-300k. I believe the mugen race engines are sealed crate motors direct from the factory so you can't fiddle around with it. A guy who works for Speedstar told me as soon as the engine lease is up after a race, the Mugen engineers quickly remove the motors before anyone could work on them. Same guy told me despite access to a mugen race engine, they could not replicate the characteristics of the race motor.

if I had crazy money, and I don't, I would buy a $500,000 Honda NSX GT Type-R, and give Mugen another $400,000 to make it a Mugen NSX-RR like the one at TAS with the motor like in karno's pictures.

Then I would give them a million and buy the 590-hp V8-powered Mugen Legend Max M1.

I think they would do so for that amount (remember, the 1992 mugen NSX Type-R widebody cost $280,000)
