Important tech tip of the day!
When changing your oil and tidying up...please make sure you put the oil cap back on the valvecover. If you don't you'll notice a nice smell of oil whereever you drive and start to wonder if there's something wrong.
Ya..so basically chagned my oil on Saturday, topped it off Sunday morning to bring it up to mid level. I was kind of in a rush cause we were going somewhere and I just closed the hood. About 20 minutes later im smelling oil. "oh, it's just burn off from that little bit I spilled, it will go away" Nope it didn't go away. I check last night and there are oil splatters all over the valvecover, surrounding hoses and hood material. Cleaned it up pretty well and verified I never went low on oil, so i'm safe.
But this is the first time I've ever done anything like that. Guess that's what you get for being in a hurry.
CN: changed oil, topped off, forgot oil cap, oil mess in engine bay, FACEPALM
