first of all you should drive safe MALARKY!!!

unfortunately, you will soon realize the only turns that we have are merging from one highway to another. Houston is not really known for its twisty or elevation changes or particularly scenic views. the only place that i know that are half way decent is over in the Conroe area which is a bit north of the airport.

^ This. It's certainly not California. The Gulf Plain is very flat. If you want good driving roads in Texas you should check out RR335, RR336 & RR337a, the Three Sisters/Twisted Sisters/100 Mile Loop but they're nowhere near Houston.

I live next to and love Allen Parkway but it's really short and tends to be busy since it's in the middle of the city. It's a very unusual road for Houston though. I think the only reason it has curves and slight elevation changes are due to the fact that it runs along Buffalo Bayou.

+1 for the Conroe area as well.

all tracks from the airport are at least an hour away. If you travel about 30 minutes north on 45, you can take 242 to honeaegypt. Very narrow with back to back twisties for about 3 miles and very slick as far as traction. Hit the light and make a left to 149 and keep going past the light and there's back to back twisties for about 8minutes(newly paved blacktop last year/higher speed turns). And if you want more after that, the best is definitely last. From there(anderson), you can continue to 3090, careful for some gravel. If you wreck out there, it'll be a long wait for a tow truck.
