definitely take it easy...if you feel brave and want to push the car, make sure the conditions are at least the best they can be...which wihtout preaching means in a closed environment on a track, but if you must...just play it safe in not so favorable conditions. I mean unless 30K is nothing to you...safety is of course the main concern. be careful out there everyone!

wierd, I got a little experimental in the rain yesterday with my '05 just to see what it would do and it slowly and predictably broke loose when really pushed to do so.... Its still got the stock bridgestones on it.
04 and 05 have different tires than S02's, if you look at them, they have a larger tread openings than S02's, which make them better in the rain.

A second vote for the Toyo T1S tires.

I have them on my slightly modified MX5 daily driver and it take corners at 70 in the rain that scare the ____ of of me in my S2K when the front end tries to beat me out of the corner.

The Toyo only has one drawback to consider, the tread life is limited by the 280 wear rating, but worth every cent for the extra bite in both wet and dry conditions.

S02's have a 140 tread wear rating ?

The T1-S do not have the grip in the dry as S02 when pushed to the limit, and I mean the limit. At the track they where rolling after getting hot, but I have yet to have that problem on the street, even on corners where I know I push it.
