If you ride you will not have to do any corner work.
If you run you will work one heat, and that is normally about an hour. It is not that bad, plus you get a front row view of the action. This is where sunscreen, a hat, and glasses become your friends.

O and truth be told, I may have picked up a total of five cones ever...not much work involved. Unless you get stuck on a corner where people tend to spin out.
