Dont do it? My friend had one and got rid of it after many failures before it even hit 30-40k miles. It was in the shop more than he actually drove it.

I forgot who here works at BMW,he can tell you more accurately how crappy they are as far as reliability.BUT its your $,just make sure you get a super extended warranty.

i have a 3 series sedan as a daily bought brand new , i love how it drives and feels but alley kat is right i spent alot of money on repairs over say 10k worth of crap, after warranty lil shit here and there every few months adds up. i just kept fixing problems bc i paid the car off and didnt want another note plus i needed a car with back seats. but its true what they say bmw stands for break my wallet lol...

if you buy make sure it has some kind of warranty , however i know 3 series isnt as bad as the 5 or 7 lol those have the most problems

You might notice a lot of these used german cars are just fresh out of warranty or about to be.I know quite a few peeps that trade theirs in for a newer one when warranty is up.Thats just the "smart" way of owning one.

Yeah never thought about that thanks guys I just look at 10± forums on the fuel pump problems on that car so much that its been replaced 5+ times in some cases idk I'll retest drive (aggressive) and see if I see or hear problems and call BMW see if that car has any fuel pump replacements and how many I in its life time as I read some what 30% of them have problems

That alone would be enough for me NOT to buy one.

Just cause your test drive is ok doesn't me its gonna hold up in a month or so when the problem comes back.My friend had fuel prob but also his power steering went out at 13k or so.lol
