I wanted a E46 M3 real bad but, couldn't afford straight cash. I can only imagine aftermarket and maintenance would burn a hole thru my wallet

Oh the maintenance on an e46 is redonkulous!!!! I would steer clear of any older german vehicle unless purchased cpo.

if its a 6 speed then they can command like 60k for it. that car was my first love but, now supras are retarded to me 
at least the community isn't a bunch of srt-4 skittle owners. pretty nice fellows when i met them.
