Yeah turbo upkeep is pretty tough. Need to keep engine from getting too hot, very strict oil change intervals, need to fill up on good gas. If you're not careful, boom there goes a whole bunch of a lot of monies.

maintenance, for me, is np...
i always change out my oil every 3 months or 3k miles... whatever comes first...
always 93 octane gas...
and i'll probably only race in mexico after hours... so the temp will be minimum 15-20 degrees cooler...

im just scared of the manifold cracking...

just take it in, get the rental, ba-da-bing ba-da-boom...

Get a log manifold and you don't have to worry about cracking. And heat in Houston is a killer, that's my main concern for turbo setup in Houston race or no race.

melting wires. oil starving the turbo. detonation. to aggressive of a tune.
manifold cracking. intercooler coupling popping off. clutch. rear end. syncros....

waiting for the car to warm... waiting for the car cool down....
