I've also seen Works and Rays wheels that got mangled...User Error...
Rotas on the track are very capable. I've seen it with my own eyes. Believe all the hype but if you see a set of Rotas that look like Volks and have safe s2k offsets...holler
No way Jose! I agree any wheel can get mangled but the build process is much higher for a brand name wheel versus rota. I just wouldn't risk my life because I wanted to save a few hundred bucks is my main point.

Wheels don't break by themselves...you might have seen broken Rotas but I've seen track cars run them without any problems. I'm going to go with what I saw and experienced until I'm shown otherwise. School me and I will be grateful.
The one pic on h-i ironically was a track car. Every dog has its day. Under same conditions with same car. I don't think the wheel would hold up against a name brand wheel.

yes but, i believe that is error due to drivers. maybe its is the rim. for me pushing barely 180 hp to the wheels it seem highly unlikely that the wheels would fail.

due the wheels fail due to offset issue, camber maybe? i want to know a whole story cuz it seems a bit wack that rims can get to 2200 dollars and more. the same rims that have a assembly line making them.

if i wanted good track rims i would most likely looking into a RPF1's or if i was a baller CCW track classics.
CCW's don't have the greatest rep either. They bend up switching lanes on road reflectors. Local wheel guru on here had to go through two sets of lip replacement.

450 and 2400 are not a couple of hundred bucks. to be honest i think the rim market is being bloated. there is no excuse for rims to be as expensive as they are.

look at HRE's while sexy. i have been told they are very fragile wheels.

Your life on a track is not in danger because you're driving on Rotas. The retard that decides to push the car beyond it's limit and crashes it will be endangering your life.

Yeah, I know HRE's have been banned from track events. I mean seriously, if rotas were so great then why aren't japanese teams using it on the circuit? I mean isn't it cheaper and they can focus some of that extra money elsewhere? Also, you don't have to pay full price when their is a used market.

My life on the track with wheels potentially giving out is a factor. The guy can't handling his high powered track car is another. There are multiple factors but what I'm saying is if you can minimize one of them. Why wouldn't you? I'd track on stock wheels before I'd go with rotas. Guess who your stock wheels are made by?
