Okay, the real question is -- what can we ALL do (both Austin AND San Antonio groups) to put something together that we can get a large turnout for? What do we need? An event where you pay $125 to register for it and lunch and dinner is included and we have prizes to give away??
All joking aside, what can we do to have another big event (15-20+ cars) like we have had in the past? Let's throw some ideas together and when we can do this. Maybe plan for something big in the fall. I'm willing to do some planning for it.

Sondra and I have both talked about wanting to do another weekend "camping" trip w/ an overnight stay aroud Leakey in the fall. I'd suggest switching over to Blake's sight, or double posting, as many of the Austin folks are banned from or boycotting this site.
I don't think a reg. fee is gonna help attendance, keep it free other than gas, food, and lodging.

I agree with ya' on the fee... That was really just a joke, poking fun at S2kdays.
That camping trip sounds like it would be a lot of fun. I'd definitely look forward to something like that. Do you guys need any help with it?

Sure! Nothing at all has been done to my knowledge, and given my work schedule I won't likely have as much time to plan as last year...but could share my maps, contact list, etc. from last time.
Here are the fall dates that I def. can NOT make:
September 18/19
October2/3
October 16/17
October 30/31

Hmmm...maybe if someone set up a regularly scheduled event, it would break the ice and everyone would feel more comfortable/excited about going to bigger events.
When I lived in the Bay Area, there was one guy who always did a Friday night drive on the same route and he invited all comers to join him. Sometimes, there were as many 10 cars, sometimes it was just him. Also, when I lived around Seattle, everyone met up for tacos at some restaurant--nothing S2000-related about it. Anyhow, it was easier to schedule a meet when you were talking to other people face to face than across the internet...

Welp, I'm in Killeen so what's close to me might not be close to anyone else...Maybe some restaurant in Round Rock on a weeknight?
Everyone has to eat and I'm sure you guys know of specials.
Failing that, there's also a Barnes and Noble there...we could meet and discuss books.
