S2KCA Track Day - Nov 14th - Harris Hill Road
#61
I just got my Star Specs put on today and my first impression of them is they are a great tire. Can't really play with them until the rain is gone but off the bat, they have way better wet traction than my MX did. And there's a lot less road noise. I can't wait to really get on them and see how they perform.

My only caveat is that it's somewhat expensive and very addictive - consider yourself warned!

Looking at my funds, I better not this time since I'd have to shell out some cash to prep my car for the track. Is there any way I could just show up and take pictures or is there a lot of red tape?

^^You want to ride along with others great experience!! After riding along with so many people I'm now motivated to get on the track and learn to do it myself.
According to Sondra's email, all you need is an ASE certified mechanic for the tech inspect. (Please correct me if this is wrong)
So there is no need to go to a "performance shop" and spend extra money.
As for the helmet I will bring the spec sheet + helmet for the ASE tech to look at.
My plans before track day:
Tech Inspection
New Diff & Tranny fluid
New Brake fluid & Front pads. (Chris S: I would like some Hawk pads and recommendations on where to get them from, also the the brake bleeder kit)
New spark plugs
Alignment
Weight Reduction (time to lose the gut)

By brake bleeder kit, do you mean the speed bleeders? If not, you just need 1/8" clear piping and a bottle to pump the old fluid into. I'm looking to get some pads for the track & autocross. It felt like my stock ones glazed over on my last track day.
@Adolfo: How'd the 23mm box wrench work out for ya compared to the adjustable wrench?
