Stock OEM rubber (S-02) is very good for AP1 16" wheels at AutoX. The treadwear rating is only 140 and the contact patch is better than most tires this size. The stock tires have labeling that is a little deceptive. The fronts run a little narrow and the rears are closer to 245 despite their 225 label. The S-02 sidewalls are compliant to work well with your suspension. You can try other tires on your 16s but there isn't much point going bigger than 215/245, the wheels aren't wide enough to go wider without pinching the sidewalls.
Stock AP2 17" wheels should work well with 225/245 or 255. Unless you have 10.5" rear wheels with fantastic offsets and about 400 HP I can't see going to 275. Not to mention if you lower the car anything over 245 could rub.
yeah, I also like the AP1 Bridgestone Potenza S-02, but I feel that they over steer at times..even though they are a little bit wider than the AP2 V2 stock ones. I have been using these in daily driving for the last 6 months until I got the AP2 V2 Stock tires. Currently the AP1 rears (225/50-16) has 30% tread & fronts(205/55-16) has 75% tread left on. Since they are sitting in my garage , I want to use them as track tires, but I might need to replace the rears ..

The car has no mods whatsoever & has not been lowered. Since I need to replace my rears on AP1 (16") anyway, I am willing to try any other better tire than Stock S-02...?

IMO, the AP2's RE050 (215/45-17 || 245/40-17) are great & handles really well on dry & daily conditions. I felt much more comfortable & confident with these on limecreek & harris hill drive. Not to mention that they saved my ass on 2222 when I spun out of control..

Yeah, I would totally jump on a set of the RE010's as a spare set if I had the money.
