I was watching hondas new comercial, thinking it was another ad for their cars but all I saw was a sci-fi robot. Can anyone fill me in on what this robot "ASIMO" does?

 

Asimo is a robot that walks. on the ground, up stairs, down stairs, up hills, down hills, all over the place. neat stuff. there's a web page about it on www.honda.co.jp someplace, but I'm waaaaaay too lazy to find it.

ASIMO is a really neat Mechanical Engineering accomplishment. For years Engineering Schools have been building these types of robots for a national competition. Mimicking human motion is pretty difficult, espically when walking up/down stairs. I think Honda's goal is to have ASIMO be an assistant to handi-capped people.
