Rear Brake Pad Replacement Tool?

Rear Brake Pads - Inspection and Replacement:
Step 14: Rotate the caliper pistion clockwise into the cylinder, then align the cutout in the piston with the tab on the inner pad by turning the piston back.
The pic shows a tab on the rear of the pad being aligned with one of the four possible locations on the piston.
Hmm, so now it's not 100% clear to me how the parking brake works....but the diagram shows a cable attached to a lever, which is attached to what they're calling a cam. So it looks like yanking the e-brake rotates a cam, pushing the piston out. That jives with the picture I see. Maybe oversimplified, but that doesn't require the piston to rotate.

You can pick up the piston tool from pepboys. It's called the brake piston tool.
Even with that and the master cylinder cap opened, I found it pretty hard to rotate the piston, esp the left rear one... but it works with a lot of uhh, duhs, and ahhs... Anyone know of an easy to rotate the piston?

If it won't rotate easily with the tool - then either you've got the wrong tool or you have a very serious problem with the caliper and it needs a major rebuild.
On the tool, the little cube works with some calipers... but it wouldn't work here. Calipers across car lines ar every different.. so I settled a long running problem by buying a kit of the tools with a large number of fittings. Now I can do any rear calipers.
