No more Brawn GP
The Brawn GP team as we knew it is no more. Mercedes took a controlling interest in the team as expected and will compete as Mercedes Grand Prix next year. Ross Brawn will continue to manage the team but there are serious doubts if next year's driver lineup will include 2009 World Champion Jenson Button. Talks are underway at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes to sign Jenson alongside Lewis Hamilton for an all UK team. Mercedes may opt for an all German lineup of Rosberg and Heidfeld if they cannot sign Button for 2010.

I don't think JB will be as great a LH in the same car. I don't see why Mercedes would ruin a winning combination.
Should be an interesting season. I hope USF1 will have a car ready by the first race.
Mercedes owns most of Brawn...
"Daimler AG together with Aabar Investments PJSC will take over 75.1 per cent of the Brawn GP team, with Daimler taking 45.1 per cent and Aabar 30 per cent. The rest of the 24.9 per cent will remain with the current stakeholders. With 9.1 per cent, Aabar is the biggest single shareholder of Daimler AG. This transaction is subject to the approval of the EU and the Swiss cartel authorities."

Force India (under different ownership) has been around since '91, whereas USF1 is a start from scratch operation. It takes a lot of testing, real-world feedback, and development to become competitive, ex. perhaps by freak accident.

You're optimistic, aren't you? It will be cool to see a US-based F1 team, but I don't expect to see them on the podium even once next year.
Whats happening to Rubens Barrichello? He was the only consistent driver throughout most of the season.

Rubens (my favorite F1 driver) left Brawn for Williams after the season ended. Looks very likely now Button also plans to jump off the Mercedes GP team for better pay at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. Kimi may sit out the season.
