New Motor time
So the story is long and very aggravating so I will spare yall all the details. In Nov I went on vacation then came back to a car not running. So I started by taking the VC off and found a nasty little surprise; I shattered a valve stem. So the head had to come off, well I was really busy and didn't get around to actually getting the head off till today, and when I did I found a nasty surprise. #4 cylinder looked like a mine had gone off in it and the actual head off the valve was wedged in the head vertically; head was ruined (pics to come). So now I have to pull my motor overthe next couple of days and start striping it down for all usable parts (i.e. oil pump and what not)
So if anyone has any leads on a block that doesn't have any cylinder wall damage and a complete head please contact me. Don't have much money due to being out of work due the car, So I am not ready to act on anything just yet but I will soon.
Thanks
Josh

Just an FYI... In cases like this, car-part.com is your friend...
Looks like there is a place in New Braunfels with a 2.0L engine for $2500... Probably a lot easier and not much more expensive than having yours completely re-done at a machine shop.

I took the head by a machine shop to confirm what I thought and it is impossible to repair. I got a lead on a block and head in good condition so I will be posting pics up soon

My friend was racing his S2K pretty hard and at 9K RPM in 5th gear he went for 6th but missed and hit 4th. Took the head off and 3 of the 4 cylinders had pieces of destroyed valves melted and sitting on the piston. 2 cylinders actually had multiple valves in them. It looked baddd. One valve was actually embedded into the top of a piston at least 3/4 of an inch. The valve cover had a 3 inch hole blown through it where a part of the valve train was shot through it like a bullet from a gun. Glad it wasnt my car, but it still hurt a little.
