Default check this out

next year i am going to this school and i was reaserching them and i found this.

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-...s-1000hp-n.html

this is what i want in my s.

it is insane that this lsx makes 1000 HP Naturally Aspirated at 9000 rpm
for a v8 i think this is a true masterpice, and the fact that i only ways 100 lbs more than our block and has 4 more cylinders, truly amazing!

the torque really doesnt matter cause its a high reveing motor and with that much HP you dont need torque look at the s2k motor

Yay for reading material on torque/horsepower: http://www.vettenet.org/torquehp.html

Would you really want to put that engine in your S? Sure it makes 1000hp and gobs or torque but you'd have to beef up the differential and get some really wide tires in order to handle the power so you don't go spinning off in every corner.

Engine didn't really sound all that good in the video. Maybe it's the camera/quality?

You better plan on an entirely new drivetrain, b/c the S' clutch, diff., and tranny won't handle anywhere near that kind of power. I'm not even sure if the driveshaft and axles would handle the power.

Would make a lot more sense to just start w/ a Vette.

That would be nice in my RX7. A lot of those gains are made with that intake manifold though, and it surely wouldn't fit without some serious hood modifications.

BTW - Im keeping the stock diff in my LS1 RX7 and the diff is considered the weakest part of the car. Unless you drag race the diff will take the beating. Many of the V8 RX7 owners run them without any issues....everything from street driving to road racing. Of course, none of them have 1000hp.

In all honesty, if you were to put that same motor in a vette you'd still be looking at doing the same rear end mods....cromoly axles and an aftermarket differential (in the factory casing) if you want to do drag launches. Hinson supercars runs a kaaz diff in a stock mazda casing and does 8's with a tt LSx motor.

Really wide tires doesnt always mean more grip either.

How so? You have a larger contact patch on the ground to break traction from.
