Sondra S2K

Hello all:

I've contacted the Alamo Drafthouse, and they tell that "Cars," the new Pixar movie, will be playing at the S. Lamar Drafthouse on June 14 (don't know the specific time yet). I did ask about the one on Anderson, since they have better parking, but it isn't playing there (there is decent parking at the Lamar one behind the theatre).

I'm hoping to get the word out to car clubs of all kinds locally and hoping that we can buy all of the tickets to one showing the day they become available (June 9). I tried to ask the Alamo if they would sell all of the tickets to one showing ahead of time, but they wanted to charge some kind of special event fee ($10 per person versus the box office price of $8 pp), so I declined and said I'd just have everyone buy their own.

Post back here and let me know if you're planning on going so that I can get there early and hold out a row specifically for S2000 folks!

If it's a movie night, it would be neat to go to Gatesville's drive-in, since y'all have convertibles and all. The Tejas Miata club went for long drive there and around last weekend.

I haven't heard from Sondra in a few days. Last I knew she was out of town and not sure if she would be back in time. If I reach her I'll post something...

I don't think she's going to be back in time, and no time has been announced, so I expect it's off. Oh well, I'm pretty busy through the weekend, so maybe we can try again over the next week or two.

Just got off the phone with Sondra. She's still on a road trip and cannot make it back in time for tonight's movie. If you are still interested in attending tonight she suggests the 6:55 pm showing at the S. Lamar location.
