Default Austin Group Drive II

Well as promised I am going to be putting together the second group drive of this fal season. The first one on 9/25 was a success despite the weather playing tricks with our heads.

The next drive will occur on 10/16/2004. It was suggested that this weekend was a good weekend because of columbus day however I feel its not enough time to plan an effective drive. If we get enough interest we can bump it to 10/9 but the decision to make that would occur by 10/5.

Anyway the drive route this time will be a different one and Steve I'll need some help here.

Start somewhere off 1431 and 183 and head west on 1431 to marble falls take 281 in marble falls 281 to burnet to 29 east to georgetown to I 35.

open to suggestions on the route.

Start time: 12PM

Confirmed List:

d'ohh!!

The 16th is the day after I get back from a week-long trip to Dallas and which I am already attending another non-car related event... Then the 9th would be the day before I leave for that trip, which is already spoken-for by another meet I am attending here in San Antonio...

Anything after the 17th, my weekends should be open.

Sounds like that will be a fun drive, though. That's a nice route through there.

I'll make it to one of the events you guys put on, soon.

I cannot make it on the 16th [being "dragged" to a wedding!]
Plus, I may head to Ft. Worth for the IRL race. [any interest?!?]
The 9th is a possibility, but the 23rd would definately work!
A good place to meet may be at the WalMart on 183 just north of 1431.
Also, knowing this area rather well, I would recomend a "pit stop" in Marble Falls at Chili's. It is on the lake with a GREAT view!
Then proceed back east on RR1431 to 1174, north to Bertram, then east on 29 to Georgetown. That would eliminate the boring straight shot of 281.

P.S. My car is in the shop getting TSB's - new clutch and spark plugs, then I'm having new Pirelli's put on!

Ok...so the 16th is out, I'm concerned about the 9th as well because of the weather forecast and how soon it is...does the 23rd work better for everyone?

Steve, you have PM.

I would recommend if you're going north on 281 to hit up Park Road 4 just north of Marble Falls...

Blake, You have PM!

Yes, the 23rd is better!

Park Rd. 4 is a great idea! [Although makes the drive longer, which is fine by me, but Bryan is "the organizer"]
It would take us by Inks Lake, then we could take 29 east to Bertram, 1174 south to RR 1431, then east back to Cedar Park.

-Steve

P.S. Blake, bring out the RX7!!

Just an FYI...I believe the "old timers" Austin S2000 folks are planning a drive on the 24th, if y'all are interested in joining that one. The reason you don't see many of us here is that some were banned and others left in disgust over the $hit that went down.

I'll be sure to post details once they're known!
