(AUS) Run to Cooper's Saturday 1/22
From our Elisetalk friends...
Okay,
The decision has been made...SATURDAY IT IS!
We are doing a run to Coopers BBQ (http://www.coopersbbq.com/tour.asp)
and plan on meeting at 11:30am on Saturday behind the Rudy's at 3406
and I-35.
Take care and we hope you can make it out to enjoy this great driving
weather this Weekend.

It's been a long time since my last visit to Cooper's. I understand Opie's is a knock-off, where Herbie (pictured at the open pit in Jeff's pic) used to be employed at Cooper's. I decided to try the "original" again to see how the two compare. Both are very good however Herbie's place is considerably closer to home. I'll post the results of our "taste test" later today.

I haven't heard any news about an impending Opie's move before this post so I have no idea.
The BBQ at Cooper's was really good and I hate to admit it but was a little better than Opie's IMO. We seated the Elise group in the adjoining back room all to ourselves. Good food and great conversation after a sprint down P4.
Opie's is still my favorite of course but when in Llano...

Hey Svann,
Had a great time yesterday, especially through Longhorn Caverns. Sorry I had to turn back before we got to Llano, had other obligations to tend to.
Just a follow-up to our earlier conversation in regards to shift points, when we were exiting Longhorn Caverns I noticed that you had at least 1 to 1.5 seconds longer gear pulls in your '00 vs. my '04. I knew that there would be a difference but I didn't expect it to be that much.
I have to say that the Cobra that hooked up with us before JonesTown was pretty immaculate.
